Overview

Deep into Greenland’s snowfields lies Alpha Polaris, an American oil research station. High above, behind the mountains, the ion storm of the century is gathering, setting off an unexpected intermingling between reality and strange night terrors, which start to affect the research station's crew.

As Rune Knudsen, a Norwegian biologist, the player has to struggle against fear and death, while trying to understand what exactly is this ominous force lurking beyond the veiled sky.

Release Information

Alpha Polaris was developed by Finnish studio Turmoil Games (their only game) and published at retail by Just A Game in 2011. The game was released under the Greenwood Entertainment label, and its sales and distribution in some European territories was handled by Phenomedia Publishing.

In 2015, following the end of their contractual relationship with the publisher, Turmoil Games released the game digitally via Steam. After the closure of their business, the game was made available for free (via Steam).
