One of my favorite games of all time.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the few games I've played that actually lived up to the hype. Strangely, I hadn't actually played any Resident Evil game before that (mostly because my parents were opposed to me playing M-rated games, and RE4 came out shortly before my 17th birthday). The graphics looked amazing, I loved the art style, the enemy and boss designs, and the Gamecube was sorely lacking in shooters (Timesplitters 2 is the only one I can remember off the top of my head that was any good). A...

A lazy effort for an outstanding game.

Resident Evil 4 is an outstanding game. Introducing for the first time or making popular gameplay mechanics that are now a staple of the genre. At the time it was also, and maybe still is, the most successful, both critically and commercially, entry in the franchise. It is then no surprise that Capcom would join the club of publishers re-releasing their past masterpieces in glorious HD. But did this amazing game received the treatment it deserved? Before going any further it needs to be said tha...

Life is too short to waste playing this Japanese garbage

Resident Evil 4 finally comes to the Xbox 360, after starting life on that peculiar little console the Gamecube. I've often heard it called one of the greatest games of all time, by various members of the gaming press and others. This is extremely high praise. Well, never got to play it, seeing as how I never owned a gamecube, though my college roommate did. Watched him play it a couple times before returning it. Guess he didn't enjoy the game much. Now that I've played the game, I completely un...

Capcom’s classic returns—ready to play again?

First arriving in 2005, Resident Evil 4 has made it’s way from the Gamecube, to the PS2, and Wii across the years, and is now stopping on the 360 & PS3 in the form of Resident Evil 4: HD. The most notable change you’ll find here are the touch-ups in the visual department alongside all the features of the PS2 & Wii versions including Separate Ways and the added weapons and costumes from those versions.Leon was tasked to find Ashley, the President's Daughter. In terms of the visuals, Capcom...

Resident Evil 4 (Wii)

I Have been playing Resident Evil 4 since the release year of 2005. It is in "My Top 10 Favorite Games of All Time" And well deserved! I originally bought it on the Gamecube and beat the game easily 10 times (Obtaining every Secret). When I bought My Wii and heard that they were Re-Releasing Resident Evil 4, I had to go and get it. When I popped the game in for the first time, I didn't expect what I got. That game that I came to love only got BETTER! With increased Graphics, All the exclusives f...

Resident Evil at its absolute best

There's not much that can be said about this game that hasn't already been said in the GC/PS2 versions, but it's just simply put, THE best version of this game to date. And if you don't own RE4 for any other system already, then buy this. Even if u have beaten it. The entire premise of this version is for mainly the GC owners that got SHAFTED of the extra features that the PS2 version was given. Now the Nintendo fans get the extra features, which although not overwhelming, put a nice tou...

My High School Paper RE4 Review

Holiday season '04 turned out being one of gaming's biggest ever in regards to top titles, with the likes of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2), Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2), Halo 2 (Xbox), Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (GameCube or "GCN"), Doom 3 (PC), Half-Life 2 (PC) and many more being released within 3 months of each other (Oct-Dec.). The result of all that end-year activity usually means that the industry is dry by the time New Year hits. But not so in '05. Because of all the big-name ...

Resident Evil 4 re-animates the corpse of a dead franchise

Capcom begins 2005 with a bang, with the release of the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4, directed by series creator Shinji Mikami to be nothing less than the greatest survival horror game of all time. Designed from the ground up to bring back players who had given up on the series while at the same time inviting a whole new generation of gamers to give the series a try, Resident Evil 4 revitalizes and revolutionizes the genre from decapitated head to chewy toe. Leon S Kennedy is back in H...

Resident Evil 4 Review : Evil Evolves

Resident Evil 4. Where do I even begin. Probably one of the best games ever made. This game is however not without its share of controversies. Originally Resident Evil 4 was conceived for the PlayStation 2 way back in 2001. But that year Resident Evil series creator Shinji Mikami struck an exclusive deal with Nintendo to make at least 4 exclusive Resident Evil titles for their Nintendo GameCube. The PS2 fans were heartbroken. Thankfully the death of RE4 on the PS2 gave birth to an equally awes...

Four years on, RE4 is still a tour de force.

I'm an extreme latecomer to Resident Evil 4, having never owned a GameCube and never getting around to the PS2 version until recently. All I can say is, I wish I played this game sooner. It's unreal both how good this game is in terms of level design, action sequences and combat, but how heavily mimicked this game is. More recent blockbusters like Dead Space, Gears of War and Metal Gear Solid 4 pick up so much of what was done perfectly here in this game, which is perhaps the highest compliment ...

Resident Evil 4 (WII)

This version on R.E is in my opinion the best version out. The weapons availuable in the game are incredable. It has the totally origional pistal as well as the amazingly powerfull rocket launcher. This game also offers after game awards such as the infinate rocket launcher, matilda and (if player has completed seperate ways) an infinate machine gun. Once you have completed the game you also unlock extra's, which include seperate ways and many more. This game also has boss's of all levels of all...

Resident Evil 4

The best horror game I've ever played. It was incredibly awesome. The zombies look so realistic and the characters are amazing. It was fun to solve all sorts of mysteries and explosre the vast areas we were given. The graphics were very accurate and sharp, and the movement and angle of Leon while he runs or walks is right on target. It was fun to have Ashley follow behind, and to save her whenever the infected humans came into view. Overall, concept = amazing. 5 stars, I believe its deserving. ...

A masterpiece and a revolution for the series

If you've played Resident Evil 4 then you know that it's one of the quintessential masterpieces of our generation, just as our parents had Pong and Pac-man, we have received Resident Evil 4. Shinji Mikami re-invents the survival horror genre

When Shinji Mikami of Capcom set out to re-invent the survival horror genre, he did so by giving the player more bullets, then multiplying the number of enemies. The result is an experience that retained the vulnerability of being overwhelmed by mobs of unnerving creatures, but added the element of action-style gameplay. RE4 is really an astounding graphical achievement on the PS2. These are some of the best graphics ever represented on the console. The use of color and lighting really conveys ...

My favorite game ever

I have played through RE4 about 10 times on 3 different systems. If my computer was not a glorified word processor I would play it yet again. I think captivated and dazzled are good words to describe how I feel about this game. I entered college around the time Nintendo 64 came out and resultingly stopped gaming. I bought an Xbox when that came out. Interest in gaming rose a little. Then I bought a gamecube and Resident Evil 4 and now I'm like a game junkie looking for small doses of gamin...

Evil has a new face

In 1996 Capcom shook the world with their controversial yet inspiring survival horror title, Resident Evil. We've seen the series progress and we've seen countless spin-offs such as Outbreak and Dead Aim, However Resident Evil 4 has once again raised the bar for the survival horror genre. Resident Evil 4 pulls away from the usual formula which we've been used to the past ten years and gives the Resident Evil series a much needed face-lift. Leon is back and this time around he's certainly no rook...

Instant Classic.

Nearly everyone who has played Resident Evil 4 will tell you at the very least that it was a welcome change to the survival horror genre. While some may not agree with the Game of the Year title, most will at least agree that the game is great, and a much needed step forward. The graphics are extraordinary. It pushes the Gamecube to its limits. I'd go as far to say that it can hold its own against most console games around today. As far as it pushes the Gamecube, it still holds a solid frame rate...

RE4 Builds Constantly, Peaking at 'Awesome'

RE4 is one of my favorite games ever for multiple reasons. 1: It boldly marches into a new style of gameplay. The 3rd person view and the overall setup is completely new. The number of puzzles in the game have been reduced to a minimum. Resident Evil 4 is not your big puzzle based game. Instead it is all about shooting people. Some people played the older RE games just to shoot zombies, and that is what RE4 caters toward. 2: Graphics make this game awesome. RE4 is definitely among the top few ga...

Resident Evil 4 appeared on the Gamecube in january of 2005 and then on the PS2 in the october of that year. In 2007 RE4 was available on the PC and Wii. An amazing Wii remake of a cult-classic every adult gamer should

I'd be lying if I said RE4 wasn't one of the best games I've played in a very long time.I was a bit worried after playing Dead Rising to death to go back and play Resident Evil, but RE4 definitely filled my thirst for blood and gore.I've been a fan of the series since the very first Resident Evil title, back in the days of the corny b-movie style voice-overs and I'm happy to say Resident Evil is still keeping things fresh but at the same time following a tried and tested formula.Long past are th...

Resident Evil 4 (Wii) Review

With its release on the GameCube in 2005, Resident Evil was an instant hit. Within just over two weeks, the game sold over 300,000 copies and was subject to highly positive reactions from fans and critics alike. To date, the game has sold roughly 4 million units on the four platforms its been released. Not long ago, Capcom and Nintendo ported the game to the Wii, resulting in what is arguably the best version. For those new to Resident Evil 4, the story follows Leon Kennedy of Resident Evil 2 o...

A truly fun and exciting experience.

First, let me tell you that I'm NOT a Resident Evil fan. I bought the original RE game way back when it first came out due to the word of mouth. The game frightened me a lot when I played it as a kid but I felt disappointed by the lanky controls and horrible item/save features. I never played any of the later RE games because I didn't have a good experience with the original. Now here comes Resident Evil 4, the game that turned me back into a fan. I was utterly impressed by the quality and sc...

A Perfect Game For A Decayed Console

This game is almost worth buying the entire console just to play it. Even though this game has been re-released for the ps2 i still prefer this version just entirely on the fact that the control scheme is much more intuitive in my opinion. Resident Evil 4 has appeared on the Gamecube,PS2 and PC. Everyone is awesome in this game, thus this game is awesome.

Oh what a surprise. Never thought I'd like this game as much as I do. I'm a huge Resident Evil fan and i've finished every RE out there and this one is the icing on the cake. There isn't a lot you can say on a near perfect game. This is the evolution of the RE system and it is superb. Resident Evil 4 is a horror FPS game which does things a little differently compared to the other Resident Evil games. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes in an extremely horrible way. well to start this out resident evil 4 is the best in the series so far (i think the 5th is going to beat it out.) but anyway i love the wii edition. its much easier than the gamecube and ps2 versions. i think the aiming circle was needed for those people that arent good aimers with the laser dot. also re4 has great graphics compared to the previous games, and i like how they put leon and ada back in the series. i didnt want them to be forgetten after re2 but the game box says it all ( creatures...

Everything in it's Right Place (Including the Camera)

As published in the University of Virginia's Cavalier Daily Resident Evil 4 delivers gruesome survival-horror action in Capcom's best title in the series to date. RE4 combines all the elements of the genre's heart-racing atmosphere and story with blood-pumping new, over-the-shoulder shooting action. Recommend to almost everyone.

This is a game that I like. It's a survival horror game that felt like it was made just for me. With the right length, difficulty and style of gameplay. There was only one thing that I didn't like, the music. It was more irritating than enjoyable. There was some more stuff in the game that you could rip on, like how some environments look like they were painted in the same colour, but they are minor and doesn't take away from the experience. This is a game that I would recommend to everyone who ...

A remarkable achievement

Resident Evil 4 has been a long time coming. First said to be released on the Playstation 2 back in 2000, then later being made 4 different times. The first attempt at Resident evil 4 was Devil may cry. Devil may cry was originally planned to be Resident Evil 4, but according to the creator the game strayed to far from the past Resident Evil games, so it was turned into a new project. The other notable version seen by public eyes would have to be what Capcom dubbed as “Resident evil 3.5”. This w...

Resident Evil 4 is an amazing Action / Adventure game.

There isn't much I can say that hasn't been said already, so I'll make this short. Resident Evil 4 is one of the best Gamecube games to be released, and one of the best games to ever be made. This is the pinnacle of the Resident Evil series and I would love to see Capcom top this.
