Sprint 2 was a 1976 arcade racing game from Kee Games. The name comes from the number of players, not that it's a sequel to a pre-existing game called "Sprint"; other games in the series would follow suit with their numbering. The concept and name for "sprites" as known today were patented for this title; they were described as a way to layer graphics on top of one another without disturbing the underlying bitmap.
