Overview

Starlink: Battle for Atlas (not to be confused with the 2013 game Starlink) is a sci-fi fantasy third-person space combat action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe on October 16, 2018. The Switch version will be released in Japan on April 25, 2019.

While the game can be played normally, physical copies of the game include an optional toys-to-life element (similar to the Skylanders series) where players can use a special controller mount (outfitted with near-field communication) and modular toy parts (including the ship with detachable wings, pilot, and weapons) to customize their starships. With some exceptions, all toy parts are compatible with all versions of the game. Owners of the digital version of the game can use the digital version of the parts with paid DLC.

The Switch version of the game features guest characters from Nintendo's Star Fox series, with Fox McCloud playable in bonus missions and the Arwing available as playable ship components. The Starter Pack for the Switch version adds Fox as a physical pilot component and switches the physical version of the Zenith for the physical version of the Arwing. Both the Fox and Arwing toys cannot be used in the XB1 and PS4 versions.

As of April 2019, the game's toys-to-life component was discontinued in North America and Europe.
